First Day of Lent Season 2012 — Ash Wednesday

Today, February 22, 2012, is the first day of Lent Season 2012 — Ash Wednesday.

This has been my yearly “dos” as a Christian. So just right after our exam this morning, I immediately rushed to the Basillica del Sto. Nino here in Cebu City for me to be able to catch the 8:30 AM mass. Enough with my adrenaline, I arrived at the church 10 minutes before it started and I also able to grab a seat for myself.

One thing what Christians usually do during this day is to have a ceremony using ashes as a symbol of penitence. Ashes usually were marked in the forehead.

I didn’t took a photo of myself since I was still in my medical school uniform and, I guess, it’s very unlikely to take photos of oneself inside the church.
